Privacy policy
Effective November 7, 2026. Starter Pack Suite is a Shopify app made by Steelyard Ventures LLC ("we", "us").
Who this covers
Merchants who install Starter Pack Suite, and their customers who use its features on the merchant's store. For customer data, the merchant is the controller and we process it on the merchant's behalf to provide the app.
What we store, and why
- Store access. The store's domain and the API access token Shopify issues at install, so the app can work on the store.
- Settings. Quantity-break offers, the free-shipping amount, review and back-in-stock settings. Checkout rules and discount settings are saved in the merchant's own Shopify store as metafields.
- Product reviews. The rating, title, text, the reviewer's name (shown as first name and last initial) and email address. The email is never displayed; it is used to prevent duplicate reviews and is visible to the merchant.
- Back-in-stock requests. The shopper's email address and the product they asked about, used only to send one email when it is back in stock, and visible to the merchant.
- Usage counters. Monthly counts of documents and emails, to apply plan limits.
Invoices and packing slips are created on request from the order data in Shopify (names, addresses, items and totals). We do not keep copies of these documents. Wishlists are saved in the shopper's own browser, not on our servers.
What we do not do
We do not sell or rent personal data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Service providers
- Fly.io hosts the app and its database in the United States.
- An email delivery provider sends back-in-stock emails on the merchant's behalf.
- Shopify provides the platform, billing and the store data the app reads.
How long we keep data
While the app is installed. When a merchant uninstalls the app, Shopify asks us 48 hours later to delete the store's data, and we delete reviews, back-in-stock requests, settings and access tokens then. Customer data deletion requests that Shopify forwards to us are honoured for that customer's reviews and requests.
Your choices
Customers can ask the merchant to remove a review or a back-in-stock request, or ask us directly. Merchants can delete reviews in the app at any time.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS and is stored on an encrypted volume. Access tokens are never shown or logged.
Data processing terms
Our terms and data processing page sets out our obligations as your processor, including incident notification within 72 hours.
